Hints and Revelations: Radius Festival of Drama 2024
This year Radius return to St Mark’s Newnham, Cambridge, for what promises to be a great day. The day includes a directing master class with two professional actors exploring Shakespeare’s The Tempest, a performance of A hint of an unknown God by Rex Walford, which dramatises poetry by John Betjeman, and Q&A.
Hints and Revelations takes its title in part from Rex Walford’s dramatization of John Betjeman’s poetry, A Hint of the Unknown God. This will take place after lunch and will present some of Betjeman’s best-loved poems. These explore his fascination with matters religious, both with the human spirit – its hopes, fears and solaces – and with the Church as an institution. It is to be produced and directed by Tricia Peroni and Wendy Walford, both stalwarts of the first Radius Festival in 2022.
Hints and Revelations concludes with a Q and A session and a panel of drama practitioners will field questions raised by the day’s programme, and by religious drama in general.
Radius explores faith, belief, social, ethical questions and what it is to be human, through drama. If you are interested in the arts, culture and the big questions of today, we’d be delighted to meet you. Check out our video here and our website to learn more about us.
