Wantage Branch: Visit to Tom Brown’s School Museum, Uffington, Oxfordshire.
We meet at Tom Brown’s School Museum, Uffington, at 2.15pm. We’ll look round the exhibition, “Archie and the Poet”, that Garry Gibbons has worked very hard to set up. We’ll have the opportunity to see the real Archie and Jumbo and Garry will tell us more about Archie – Archibald Ormsby-Gore as he became known when Archie and the Strict Baptists was published. At 3.15 we shall leave the museum and walk along Broad Street to St Mary’s Church, where JB was a churchwarden, where Fay Forster and her team will lay on one of their famous afternoon teas.
Cost: £10 to include tea and a small donation to the museum.
Please contact the Wantage Branch for more details or to book a place.
