The Portland Gallery in London is holding an exhibition of a range of John Piper’s works until 18 October 2019. More than 50 works by Piper cover the board range of this painting and collage works. The catalogue make reference to the Shell Guides and the close collaboration between the two and says: “The Shell Guides were ostensibly designed to increase petrol consumption by giving the new and growing number of car owner’s destinations to explore, yet for piper and his co-editor John Betjeman, it was often about highlighting the overlooked, undervalued, unfashionable or quality”.

The exhibition provides another opportunity to see the range of John Piper’s work.
